This classic Queenstown mountain bike ride is a favourite with the locals as it encompasses a bit of everything – it’s a great workout, has beautiful scenery and even has a bit of a technical challenge in sections.
Let Vertigo Bikes drop you off at Moke Lake saddle, approximately 8km from Queenstown. From here you follow a well-graded and undulating 4wd track through to the head of Moke Lake, where you will be surrounded by breath-taking mountains and high country farm land. The ride encompasses rough 4wd road and single track with a few farm animals to dodge on the way! Once you meet back with the Glenorchy Road you have the option of taking the road back to town or head into the more technical purpose-built trails in 7 Mile Reserve.
