Weather in Queenstown deserves respect, especially in the height of the summer months when the sun is extremely vicious due to a thinning of the ozone layer.

It can only take ten minutes to burn (sometimes less), so “Slip, Slap, Slop” as we say in NZ (slip = on a shirt; slap = on a hat; Slop = on some sun block), and don’t go for a ride without plenty of sunscreen!  At the same time, also remember that we are in the mountains, we have our very own little micro climate here and the weather can change without any notice.  So it is always important to check the local weather forecast before planning any riding missions.
